Still obsessing over these two! And this crazy, awesome, beautiful, DIY, uniquely rad day!
This little car has taken me to some magnificent places.. @mazdausa
Field scouting in our local mountains yesterday went better than expected. We stumbled upon some beautiful vistas, traveled down some roads that were questionable for the Mazda, but we made it work! I cherish these moments and cannot wait to begin the process of scouting an entirely new area of the country.
I would say I'm pretty transparent on this platform. Describing and sharing my life in a very true and natural form. But I've never really introduced myself properly so, here it goes! Hello & Welcome! My name is Shane Brennan Coker. I am 22 years old, obsessed with dogs and nature documentaries. I drink a little too much coffee, and spend a little more than I'd like to admit on some decent joe. I am a full-time photographer, and work on a freelance/contract basis. I have no other source of income and no safety net. I feel the most alive when I'm on the road and traveling to a new destination. I have an unhealthy obsession with salami, cheese, and crackers (in that order). I have been straightedge for just about 5 years now. I fell madly in love with a girl just about 2 years ago. You may know her as @hailey.cassine, I know her as "babe" 🤓 We now live together and have our sights set to the Pacific Northwest. We're hoping to make the sacred pilgrimage to the coveted city of Portlandia in the coming year. I am a collector of a random assortment of vinyl records, national park pins/patches, and taxidermy moths/butterflies. My favorite band is Title Fight (if the handle didn't give it away already), my favorite film(s) hands down is the original Star Wars trilogy or Into the Wild, it's a hard tie. Well, that's me! Would love to get to know some more of you rad people. Thanks for sticking around, and I appreciate any one who has hit the like, left a comment, or followed along this weird and awesome journey! 🤘🏻
Hoping to continue our never ending hunt for new and inspiring spaces such as this one in 2017. Natural light, great coffee, and an inviting vibe.
Couldn't get enough of these rad customized rings. Designed by the bride, @danielacardillo! I got way too carried away with these photos. Do you blame me?! This scenery, the raindrops, the colors, it was mesmerizing!
@danielacardillo + @connyjorr1's Big Sur adventure just hit the blog! If you're interested in hearing about our day up and down the central coast. How we battled the weather, and the beautiful ceremony along the Big Sur river head over to the link in my bio for more! Cannot get enough of these images and I'm sorry in advance for the spam. You will be seeing A LOT more from this amazingly rad day.
One of my favorite images of the day. We were almost finished up with the post ceremony photos amongst this beautiful redwood grove when I saw this imperfect, yet perfectly placed boulder. The overcast light was peaking through the opening in the canopy. Sometimes your favorite photos arise from a quick placement, and a sliver of beautiful light.
I was honored to be chosen for this uniquely beautiful, one of a kind destination elopement along the Big Sur Coast. @danielacardillo + @connyjorr1 were incredibly accommodating, fun, and out going. They battled extremely windy conditions, light to torrential downpours, and 40° temps. All while keeping their composure and adventurous spirits alive and well. Such a beautiful day full of joy, authenticity, and love. I am eternally grateful for this amazing and wonderful opportunity. Cheers @danielacardillo + @connyjorr1 I wish you only the best! :)
2016. What a momentous year in terms of overcoming obstacles, fears, hesitations. Setting goals, achieving some, failing miserably at others, relationships, creating friendships, and so much more. This year I stopped talking about the things I wanted, and went out and got them. I stopped thinking so much, and just did. Other aspects I failed to oversee and it costed me greatly. If there was one thing I'd like to reflect on this year is that the only one thing stopping me, is Me. As cliche as it is, it's so damn true. Overthinking, stress, and anxiety have always held me back, for as far as I can remember. I attempted to put insecurities on the back burner, putting myself out there more, and tried to be the best me that I could be. And well, I saw results. In 2017, I hope to make even more strides and leaps. I feel greatly inspired day to day from this platform alone. Seeing other peoples works of art, talents, passions, and truly motivating words helps push me in the directions I hope to be heading in. 2016 held all kinds of ups and downs. I took a few steps forward, and even more steps back. But I now know I'm heading in the direction I've always hoped I would find. Leading a life that I love, that keeps me on my toes, tests my abilities daily, motivates, inspires, and stimulates me creatively. It feels like my life is only just beginning. I cannot wait for what kind of obstacles 2017 holds. I hope you have a great start to the New Year.
Gearing up for my trek back up the coast to that little town tucked away into the cliffs that I am so fond of. Yep, you guessed it.. Back to Big Sur! Starting off the new year with my first destination elopement. I will be the only witness to the couple I will be photographing. A long time coming and I'm so happy I get to finally photograph an intimate wedding like this. Taking place in one of my favorite places on earth. We're expecting cold and rainy conditions, they wanted and adventure and they sure are going to get one! Twenty seventeen, we're coming for you.. and we're not letting up.
Blue hour in the Eastern Sierra.
Merry Xmas from me to all of you rad people. I wish you the merriest of holidays, and a damn fine new year! 🎄
Today, my Grandfather and I took our annual Xmas eve adventure. These venture's originated from being an anxious little lad on Xmas eve. Distracting me from all the festivities, he would take me on hikes, road trips, and other outdoor escapades. His camera always accompanied him, shooting me and the surrounding landscapes. These annual ventures lasted throughout the years. Even though I have grown older, and so has he we still continue this tradition. Escaping the madness of family feud's, cooking travesties, and violent shoppers. We agreed this year, was easily the best we could remember. After seeing snow in the forecast we made our way east to the Laguna Mountains. An unfortunate circumstance with the police wouldn't allow us to proceed further without tire chains. We decided to double back for an alternative route through Lake Cuyamaca. We also got stuck behind a 4-5 car accident. We decided to cut our losses and explore the nearest campground. A special experience for both of us. Witnessing snow fall on Xmas eve was spectacular. Especially in Southern California. These traditions, moments, and experiences like this is what makes this season so damn special. I wish you all the merriest of holidays. Whether you're spending time around the fire, stuffing your face with peppermint bark, or maybe reflecting on time spent alone. I hope you all have a damn good night.
2016 has been one wild fucking ride. From getting let go from a management position, to landing a full-time 9-5 job, to quitting to pursue my love for Photography full-time. I chose this path without really excepting the consequences, the hardships, or the financial instability that this decision would take. This year has been monumental in terms of my personal struggles, overcoming them and confronting them. I think it's important that every year should be a step in some sort of direction. Whether it's forward or backwards at least you're going somewhere, anywhere. Movement is good, movement is positive, movement is living. I hope you took a step forward, going in the direction you dreamt about, or maybe you took a step backward and learned from what put you there. Here's to 2017. Big plans, aspirations, travels, and misadventures lie ahead. Whatever the new year may bring, I am ready.
First off Happy Winter Solstice! ❅ I hope this season brings along some snowy misadventures, cozy nights around the fire, & some intense coffee convo's. Counting down the days until I hit the road with this hilarious, genuine, power couple! Last winter I met these two on a last minute venture to Yosemite Valley. And I must say not only are these two a couple of rad human beings, they have quite possibly the best smiles I have ever seen! :) Stoked for the road ahead! Next stop Bishop, California. 🗻
Today we wrapped up the last booked shoot of 2016!! A beautiful evening in the hi-desert, finishing strong with a family session of 8! Largest family shoot I've done so far, and it couldn't have gone any smoother without this pretty lady standing by my side. After we finished up, dusk was settling in nicely. We just had to hop out and snag a few more portraits before we hit the road for home.
Can't believe in just 2 short weeks I'll be heading back up the coast to shoot my first destination elopement! I've been dreaming about forging my way into the genre of intimate elopements. Finally after hard work, planning, and preparation my first gig has presented itself. It's going to be a dreamy day full of redwood groves, cliff sides, and authenticity. I can't thank the couple enough for bringing me along with them to share their special day and act as their witness. Overwhelmingly stoked, such a humbling experience that I'm so thankful to be a part of.
